2018, Château Montlandrie, CASTILLON CÔTES DE BORDEAUXBordeaux Blend: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2018 Montlandrie is plump, racy and so expressive. Inky dark fruit, mocha, chocolate, liquorice and spice are all kicked up in this sumptuous, bold Ctes de Castillon. Time brings out attractive floral top notes. I would give the tannins a few years to soften. There is a lot to look forward to in this gorgeous Ctes de Castillon from the Durantou family. 91 Antonio Galloni, Vinous (2021).

ripe fruit straightens and focuses like a laser with cool blue fruits and menthol touches supported by the grippy

yet there is real tenderness here

really aromatic and inviting with sweet cherry accents

Great shape and complexity – a wine of panache – great finishing

It's delicate and refined but has such a stylish aspect

A touch of wood on the finish but subtle and supportive

The use of whole clusters is of course quite common in Burgundy and the Rhône (were Poutier formerly made the wines at Chapoutier)

The 2020 Léoville Las Cases has developed into a powerhouse
