K-Feldspar (var: Adularia) with Chlorite
Description
K-Feldspar (var: Adularia) with ChloriteA classic example of the famous Adularia twins from Switzerland. This piece is a large, sharp, thick, well formed, BEAUTIFULLY twinned crystal that I would classify as being a "near floater" as it's crystallized nearly all the way around, but there is a spot on the base that keeps it from being 100% pristine. This is a Baveno twin and looks fantastic from all angles. There is no "front" side, as each angle makes its case for being the "display" side
water-clear to gemmy
A tiny bit of edge-wear is all that keeps this piece from being perfect
Only a small percentage of Himalaya Tourmalines are associated with Stilbite
The fact that the Stilbites are sitting atop Rhodochrosite makes it even more enticing
It's rare to find multiple "skulls" on one piece
This piece features a sharp
This piece is remarkable for Bolivia as it features a type of crystallization that is virtually unheard of for this country
The crystals glow with color when backlit and show thin black internal "phantoms"
These Calcite crystals occur in septarian nodules found in the Mancos shale formation
one of the most momentous Prehnite discoveries was made at the Prospect Park Quarry
deep reddish-black groups of Sphalerite are smartly perched atop a “mound” of HIGHLY lustrous
A great overall piece of this wonderful material
