Known for producing a true mirror finish and traditionally used for ji duya finishing on Japanese swords. Very smooth and pleasant sharpening feel. Hand sized stone that fits comfortably in one hand and can be used for one handed honing. You will receive the exact stone shown with it`s distinctive Iromono pattern which refers to the distinctive dark brown color line included in this
This stone is a Renge Namazu (蓮華鯰) — "lotus catfish
alongside its original box featuring handwritten notes from the blacksmith
